Responsibilities

Lead Pharmacist

Prairie St. John's, a 110-bed psychiatric care facility located in Fargo, North Dakota, has been providing services for children, adolescents, and adults to address behavioral health and substance use challenges since 1997. Prairie offers inpatient hospitalization, day treatment, residential treatment, and intensive outpatient services. Accredited by The Joint Commission, we are the largest, freestanding behavioral health facility in the region. More than 4,000 patients receive care from our compassionate health care team each year at Prairie St. John's.

Prairie St. John's is currently seeking a full time Lead Pharmacist. The Lead Pharmacist serves as the "Pharmacist In Charge" and represents the Prairie St. John's Pharmacy with the ND State Board of Pharmacy while working alongside the rest of the pharmacy staff filling medication orders. The Lead Pharmacist mentors and trains new employees, schedules staff, makes recommendations to improve efficiency, patient care, and meet regulatory standards.

Qualifications

The following are the job requirements for the Lead Pharmacist position:

  • Licensed by the state of North Dakota as a Pharmacist
  • At least two years of experience working in a hospital pharmacy.
  • Through training and/or experience, possess necessary knowledge to provide oversight of medication regimens for the patient populations treated in the facility
  • Knowledge of dosing for specific age populations
  • Communicate thoroughly and accurately in a professional manner both verbally and in writing. Exceptional interpersonal communication skills are expected.
  • Successful employees demonstrate a pleasant upbeat demeanor and a positive attitude.
