A day in the life

The Enrollment Specialist is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate completion of complex enrollment data management tasks and issuance of member ID cards using established internal and vendor-related systems and processes. This position utilizes strong knowledge of organizational products, clients, processes, underwriting rules, and government regulations to guide decision making.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Demonstrates and maintains in-depth knowledge of enrollment processes and systems, underwriting rules, and federal and state application processing regulations and guidelines.
  • Utilizes various computer systems and applications to perform daily functions.
  • Works various reports and inquiries to update member information, compares and resolves data discrepancies between systems, and performs outreach with internal departments to verify information to ensure overall data accuracy.
  • Reviews ID Cards prior to mailing and works with various internal departments and external vendors to ensure ID Card production needs are met and issues are resolved.
  • Serves as a team representative in cross-functional and other meetings related to ID Cards.
  • Ensures timeliness of ID Card issuance and enrollment accuracy in accordance with organizational and national measures.
  • Answers questions/inquiries from various departments within the organization related to ID Card distribution.
  • Uses historical and new ID Card business volume and timing information to create daily and monthly ID Card forecasts for vendor resource planning.
  • Participates in the review and documentation of department policies and procedures.
  • Shares knowledge with new and existing staff through job shadowing and knowledge sharing.
  • Performs work under general supervision. Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.

        What you need to succeed

        • A High School Diploma with at least 3 years of experience with data processing, customer service or related experience.
        • Ability to apply knowledge and expertise in order to utilize and understand systems, policies, and procedures.
        • Makes internal or external customers' needs a primary focus of attention.
        • Pays close attention to the details of all work and strives for a high level of accuracy.
        • Organized and proficient in collecting data with the ability to prioritize in a changing environment.
        • Ability to work closely with others and use effective approaches to accomplish goals.
        • Resolves problems, makes suggestions and implements process improvements.

          Equivalent combination of education, experience or training determined to be acceptable by Human Resources may be substituted, unless regulated by contract or program standards
